Beyoncé in black face: Clever or controvrsial?

A French magazine named, L’Official magazine, has celebrated its 90th anniversary and featured the singer Beyoncé  Knowles on the March cover. The magazine claimed it is paying tribute to Nigerian human rights activist and musician Fela Kuti in the month of March 2011.

Beyoncé is seen with dark paint (or makeup) on her face, a cheetah dress, and “tribal cheek stripes”. The french magazine claimed they were shooting an “African Queen” theme.

Even though this is not black-face in the traditional sense, it still raises so many questions. It would have been more befitting if Beyoncé had painted her whole body black for that last segment of the shoot. I must say that Hollywood and the fashion industry still loves black-face.

Fashion photographer, Steven Klein, chose to use white models made up in black-face in editorial spreads  even though black models continue to face discrimination to this very day (so much for America moving forward). It is also proven that Madonna did a black-face shoot with Steven Klein in which Madonna
(Madonna in black face ) claimed she was the "black madonna". Fortunately, Klein did not release those distasteful photos.

A young African-American is punished for trying to do what is right !?

This video is a story about a Liberian born but American raised young man named Junior Harry who just simply wanted to be a father to his child.

See how backwards and hypocritical America is. This is a young black man who got his girlfriend pregnant and does the right thing by being a father to his child.

How come American-born blacks can have kids out of wedlock at the age of 14, 15, 16 and 17 years of age and nothing is said or done to these young, black american-born teenagers? Is it because Junior was born in Libria, Africa? I personally know of at least 40 girls who were pregnant and unwed before the age of 18 and their boyfriends were under the age of 18 as well and the american government doesn't blink an eye about that "elephant in the room" situation.

So, what's the deal?? This is one of the thousands of reasons that people of color hate America and what it stands for!

Young African American teenagers and young adults, especially in low-income communities who do not try to do the right thing, end up being the ones who dropout of high school, sell drugs, don't want to work an honest job, burglarize people's homes, steal innocent hardworking people's cars just to joy ride because they are to selfish and lazy to buy something they earned themselves, violent crimes and murder. These are the scumbags that don't get punished to the full extent of the law! Insane Politics!

This is one of many circumstances why African Americans claim that the U.S. is racist! This is just one instance compared to millions that occur EVERY SINGLE DAY in this hypocritical country of America. What a shame.......Insane Politics.

Libya Protests could lead to civil war

The Middle East is seeing a wave of pro-democracy protest, fuelled by the fall of Egypt's Hosni Mubarak on 11 February, and long-time Tunisian President Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali in January.
On Monday, reports from Tripoli suggested the streets were mainly quiet, with government forces still patrolling Green Square after crushing protests in what witnesses called a "massacre".

On Sunday evening, witnesses spoke of tear gas and live ammunition being used against protesters by the security forces.

A man who attended a rally in Tripoli's central Green Square said snipers on rooftops had fired indiscriminately into the crowd using what sounded like machine guns.
He also said, "People were shot in the head and in the back. I've now taken refuge in my home. I'm afraid to leave. There is a climate of fear," he told the BBC.

Other reports say gunmen in vehicles with photos of Col. Gaddafi sped through the streets, opening fire and running people over.
A central government building, the People's Hall, was said to have been set ablaze and firefighters were trying to put out the flames.

Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's son, Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, has warned that civil war could hit the country.
His comments came in a lengthy TV address as anti-government protests spread to the capital Tripoli and were brutally countered by security forces.

New York TV executive found guilty for wife's beheading

After a three week trial and one hour of deliberations, a New York jury found Muzzammil "Mo" Hassan guilty of second-degree murder for beheading his wife Aasiya Hassan.

The husband, Muzzammil Hassan, had launched a network called Bridges TV back in 2004 and was dubbed the first English-speaking cable channel targeting Muslims inside the United States. At the time, Muzzammil said he hoped the network would balance negative portrayals of Muslims following the attacks of September 11, 2001. Muzzammil was the chief executive officer of Bridges TV, and his wife Aasiya was the general manager.

According to prosecutors, Aasiya Hassan had filed for divorce less than a week before she died.

Isn't it ironic that this man Muzzammil "Mo" Hassan who founded a TV network aimed at countering Muslim stereotypes in fact perpetuated negative Muslim stereotypes. In fact, he helped changed it for the worse. This is America and there are laws here that do not tolerate killing a spouse because of being embarrassed about a divorce. It was a shameful act on his part.
